Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (PERE) Lab

Welcome to Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (PERE) Lab! PERE Lab is a research lab at the University of North Texas that was established by Dr. Ken Siu. The lab was established in Feb. 2022 and currently is located in room E246B. The lab is mainly to develop power electronics technologies for renewable energy, smart grid, and electric vehicle applications.

  • Article "Solar Energy Modeling and Assessment in Texas" was presented by Kerrthi Rerddy Adapala in IEEE Dallas Circuits and Systems Conference on Apr. 16, 2023.
  • Congratulate Anna Hung and Charchit Sisodia on received the Summer Research Scholarship 2023, Apr. 01, 2023.
  • PERE team has been selected as an awardee for ASHRAE Undergraduate Program Equipment Grant. The project title is "Design and Development of an Evaporative Cooling Refrigeration Educational Unit with Integrated Thermoelectric Harvesting Systems" on Mar. 09, 2023.
  • PERE team has been selected as an awardee for UNT 2023 Research Seed Funding. The project title is "Prototype of Novel Highly Integrated Multiport Converter for Hybrid Solar-Battery DC Energy Systems" on Feb. 24, 2023.
  • Dr. Siu has been appointed as UNT's DEEN Faculty Fellow on Dec. 19, 2022.
  • Article "Magnetic Components Reduction in a Three-Phase PFC Converter by Using a Reconfigurable LCL Filter" was published in IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics on Dec., 2022.
  • Article "Three-phase Transformerless PV Inverter with Reconfigurable LCL Filter" was presented by Dr. Siu in IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition (ECCE) on Oct. 10, 2022.
